The VRF Project Manager position is responsible for managing, organizing and supporting all VRF projects for Klima New York. The VRF Project Manager will support Klima New York customers by providing technical support during design, installation, startup and commissioning of VRF systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Has operational understanding of HVAC systems including split systems, DX systems, controls, etc.
  • Ability to train customers and contractors on VRF system functions and operation.
  • Can work independently with scheduling and daily activities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and help customers solve problems.
  • Understands current LG VRF recommended refrigeration piping practices.
  • Conduct Project Kickoff Meeting with customer (and salesperson as required) to review piping practices, submittals and wiring plan.
  • Conduct project visits to check install vs standards, document issues needing correction with contractor PM. Manage LATS revisions and provide final as-built.
  • Monitor progress and verify readiness for startup scheduling (Power/ vacuum/controls).
  • Responsible for startup coordination which includes: system readiness confirmation, start-up scheduling, completion of start-up documents, warranty validation, and submission of documentation required for LG Warranty approval.
  • Schedule and/or conduct Owner Training, when necessary.
  • Coordinates turnover to Service for warranty, emergency repair, and preventative maintenance. Provides customer with contact list for service and warranty needs.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to accurately document project activities.
  • Communicate and work together with sales associates, engineers, service and controls to make sure projects are completed as designed.
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and basic network architecture.
  • Has ability to read, interpret and train on schematics and control circuits.
  • Interfaces with the customer on a professional basis and presents LG and ETS in a positive light.
  • Works in a safe manner. Follows industry standard safety practices including knowledge of MSDS, OSHA, tool safety, equipment safety and ladder safety guidelines.
  • Properly operates and maintains Company Vehicle. Adheres to all company policies.
  • Travel to job sites frequently through the week.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Commercial HVAC, Engineering or Controls.
  • VRF experience is preferred (installation, service, engineering or sales).
  • Proficient working with HVAC equipment.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
